Since the 1960s, Jürgen Klauke has devoted his work to a search for self-recognition in moments when existential questions arise. He composes formally provocative sequences that seek confrontation or dialogue with the viewer. The black and white prints contribute to the dramatisation of these precise and neutral settings in which his body is the aesthetic intermediary.
