The eight European artists gathered in the exhibtion share a common passion for photographing churches. Testifying as much to the most ambitious accomplishments in architecture and the unresolved connection between what is great as the ups and downs of History, religious buildings open the way to a diverse range of observations.
The artists outdo one another in extolling the beauty of these monuments, querying the way in which such arrangements are able to make people believe, follow urban and social transformations, describe the formal onset of modernity, seek the trace of an idea in concrete or evoke memories of a war front.
